Harry's Story
Harry was born in Florida. The breeder had hoped that Harry could start a breeding line of Corgis to "show" in competition. But for show dogs to compete and win, every part of their body has to conform to specific size and shape requirements known as a "breed standard."  As it turned out, there is just no other way to say it, Harry's head was too big to be a show dog.

Harry's family would have happily kept him but his dog father, Orange Crush, didn't like him and they couldn't get along. So we adopted him when he was about a year and a half. We were looking for a second Corgi because we had two and one had passed away. Our surviving dog, Sophie, was so sad she would not come out from under the bed. She needed company, and Harry was just what she needed.

Harry is just about the most ridiculous and unselfconscious dog there is. He loves everything and everybody, (except cameras).  He can be a bit shy at first, but once he warms up he just makes you laugh. And he wears his heart on his sleeve - meaning you always know how Harry is feeling. That kind of honesty is so refreshing - I think that is another reason everyone loves Harry.

At School

Harry likes school because he loves kids. They just make his day and they bring out his mischievous nature. At one school Harry seemingly made a pact with one student to bring him a piece of his morning waffle each week. Harry would be on the lookout each week. At the same time, Harry also likes to find a safe space, often under a table, when things get a little too much for him. Once I figured it out, I alway try to sit where I know there is a place where Harry can take a break.

Free Time

Harry loves to play soccer in the park.
