Audrey Hendler, Founder and Executive Director

Audrey founded A Fair Shake after spending several years as an instructor for Puppies Behind Bars. Prior to transitioning to the non-profit sector, she ran her own marketing consultancy and held key senior marketing positions at Citibank.  She is a professional dog trainer and has completed graduate work in criminal justice at John Jay College.  She shares her home with three rescues, dogs Lucy and Razzmatazz and their cat sister, Caterest.

Lauren Afflixio Kuchler, President

Lauren is a Director on KPMG's Community Impact team, supporting the firm's national corporate responsibility strategy and non-profit collaborations.  She is the parent of a rescued black Labrador Retriever, Drake.

Elizabeth Nieto, Treasurer

Elizabeth is currently the Global Head of Equity and Impact at Spotify. Prior positions include Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Amazon and Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer for MetLife. Elizabeth's experience spans numerous companies in the financial services industry.  Elizabeth's household includes her hypoallergenic cat, Galaxy.

Blair Harbour, Secretary

Blair has a background in sales and marketing and is on the Board of a non-profit community children’s school where she also serves as Director of Admissions. Blair and her dog Chablis were a Fair Shake therapy dog team.

Addie Walsh

Addie Walsh was an Emmy-award-winning writer for daytime television for three decades. Addie is also an actor, writer, and poodle collector. She was one of Fair Shake’s first volunteers, along with her poodles Monkey and Scout, before becoming an instructor.

Carole Hughes

Carole founded her own legal services firm in 1981 and sold it to a publicly traded company in 1997, where she continued in a senior vice president position for nine years. Carole is a therapy dog team volunteer with her rescue Pomeranian, Satchmo.

Brenda Johnson

Brenda is an entrepreneur currently working on a new product in healthcare.  Brenda has been a therapy dog volunteer for over ten years, working primarily with children. She curently resides with her rescue dog, Sam.
