Rookie's Story

We were interested in getting an allergy-friendly dog that would be a good fit for a household with children. We were visiting family in Virginia and decided to stop by a Labradoodle (Labrador Retriever/Poodle mix) breeder "just to look" at some puppies. There were five 8-week-old puppies jumping and licking us, but when we saw the largest dog of the litter sitting quietly in the back, wagging his tail, we fell in love. That first impression of Rookie turned out to be very true to his personality: he is independent, calm, intelligent and affectionate.

At School

Rookie is a real favorite at school because he plays it cool. He is a little older than some of the other dogs but they have nothing on him. Rookie knows so many tricks which he happily will do, and he can rollover with the best of them.  

 

Free Time

Rookie is happiest lazing around getting petted, but he's really fast when he gets a burst of energy and is an excellent opponent at tug-of-war. Rookie lives with three human siblings and a 6-month old Bernese Mountain Dog puppy.
